LAUSD All City Honor Marching Band

Since 1973, the Los Angeles Unified School District All District High School Honor Band has been involved with the Tournament of Roses Parade and other high profile events

The band brings students from all four corners of our District together for one common goal, to represent LAUSD at a high profile event in the finest manner possible.

LAUSD All City Honor Marching Band

Representing the students of the second largest school district in the nation, the band is one of only four bands perennially invited to perform in the annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

The All City Band also provides high school students with the opportunity to develop important life skills including teamwork, character development, dedication, and collaboration.

Mission

  • To provide performance opportunities for LAUSD high school musicians and auxiliary unit programs; to foster inter-school and District wide positive student relations.
  • To develop the finest composite high school band that represents the Los Angeles Unified School District at high profile events.
  • Promote the importance and the strength of music and auxiliary teams (dance and flags) District wide.
  • To support music and auxiliary teams at the high schools in the LAUSD.

Philosophy

  • To support music and auxiliary teams at the high schools

Performing Arts Programs

  • To continue developing relationships with Performing Arts in-school, and after-school community in order to bring programs to secondary schools.
  • To assist schools with identifying music, and dance programs that would benefit their students in Los Angeles communities.
  • To develop appropriate Performing Arts showcases for students and schools.

Some interesting facts about All City

  • The Los Angeles Unified School District All District High School Honor Band has been involved with the Tournament of Roses parade for 49 years.  Representing the students, teachers, administrators, support staff of the second largest school district in the nation, the program allows high schools students the opportunity to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade, Bandfest, Disneyland and other special events.
  • The students come from over 80 High Schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
